About Our Roses and Services
Our Roses:  We're a unique nursery and rose display garden located near Belleville, Michigan, between Detroit and Ann Arbor.  We're closer to Ann Arbor.  We're devoted to winter-hardy modern and antique roses, all northern grown, on their own roots, and requiring no winter protection.  Also we sell everything you need to grow great roses -- Felco pruners, rose books, fertilizers and pesticides.

We do not ship roses or chemicals via mailorder; however, you can reserve roses to pick up at the nursery or we can deliver them in our climate-controlled van.  We welcome both retail and wholesale customers.

Our Location & quirky, limited retail hours (check this before you visit!)

Our Services:  An educated gardener is a successful gardener.  Enjoy one of our weekly programs in the historic barn at the nursery or we can present a slide program to your garden club or group.  We love to host private tours of the nursery for garden clubs.  Please call to schedule in advance.  Also, we can visit your garden for a consultation about rose variety selection and cultivation.

Our Display Garden:  We've developed the grounds around our 1890's farmstead into a large, residential garden with a diverse landscape that includes over 700 rose bushes.  The roses are labeled and the setting is beautiful.  Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the screened summer house in the garden while you browse through the reference copies of our favorite rose books.

About Your Dogs & Kids:
Our 37 pound mixed-breed terrier, Josephine, doesn't want to share her nursery with other dogs.  Leave your pets in your vehicle until you can determine that Josephine is enjoying the air conditioning in our home and not working in the nursery.

Children are rarely as excited as you about all the wonderful blooming roses at Great Lakes Roses.  In fact, it's downright boring for kids!  We do not have staff available to provide child-watching services.  Please leave your children at home or come with another adult who is able to look after your children without being distracted by the roses.  For the safety of your children, you will be asked to leave if you are unable to properly supervise them.
